“Bangkok Art Auction,” the subsidiary of Art Tank Group by Sermkhun Kunawong and Muanfun Sirikorn Kunawong, organized an art auction under the name of “The Iconic Treasure”, featuring masterpieces of legendary Thai art masters and the artworks of internationally-recognised Thai artists and new wave ones. The sales hit hammer with total realised price of 50,241,000 baht. There were a group of art lovers, collectors, artists, academics, and people in the art scene all over Thailand, as well as large numbers of LIVE online viewers on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at TRUE ICON HALL Convention, 7th floor, ICONSIAM.
The Iconic Treasure has shown love and interest in art among Thai collectors, both known and growing number of new faces. The participants range from groups of young entrepreneurs to renowned art collectors of the country as well as collectors from foreign countries, showing a positive sign for Thai art as Thai artists gradually establish a presence on an international level.
Lastly, Sermkhun revealed that he is “proud to hold this auction sale, and “Bangkok Art Auction” will strive to organize auction to be one of the elements that can strengthen the art ecosystem of the Thai art industry. We hope to be a part to help new established, standards with sustained growth.
